Samantha Taylor

Hey, I’m sam.

What’s up!? It’s me, Sam. I’m just a Pittsburgh girl chasing dreams of making a life out of art. I’m a notorious daydreamer and I’ve always seen the world through rose-colored glasses. I love nothing more than the chance to share my vision let others see through my eyes.

There’s beauty in all of us—and I think that photography has the amazing ability to capture the magic that is both on the outside and within.

When I’m not working, you can catch me: at home snuggling with my cats, online shopping for way too many shoes, scarfing down tacos and margaritas (with loads of guacamole…on the tacos, not the margs), binging true crime podcasts, and spending much-loved time at home with my boyfriend Stephen and our friends.

I never “dreamed” of being a photographer. To be completely honest, I really didn’t know what I wanted to be growing up. I have always loved art so I figured it was going to be something of that nature, but I also thought about being a writer, a psychologist, and even a biomedical engineer for a hot second (Clearly that didn’t happen, LOL). I got my first camera when I was in eleventh grade and I was so obsessed with it, I would spend hours upon hours watching videos online to teach myself how to shoot and edit. I would dress up myself, my friends, and my younger sister, forcing everyone to “model” for me. I put down my pencils and paintbrushes and spent my high school art classes planning my next elaborate photoshoot. Honestly, the rest was history.

I decided to pursue my passion further at Point Park University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Photography. I was lucky to be able to use this time to learn, build relationships, and experiment with photography in its many forms.

Wedding photography came as an “accident.” I had been asked by a family friend if I would take photos at their wedding and though I was nervous, I decided I couldn’t say no. It turns out, I LOVED it. I’m such a hopeless romantic by nature and it brought me such joy to be able to create something that would exemplify the connection between two people. I knew from then on that this is what I was meant to do.

My work is all about embodying the best parts of you. When I’m shooting I want everything to feel super relaxed, real, and genuine. So let’s get weird and run around, laugh, giggle, and cuddle. There’s no need to worry about whether or not you’ll be “good” at posing for wedding pictures. Just have fun and love your partner, I’ll take care of the rest!
